How Independent Study Works

Short term Independent Study is available for students who are absent from school for 5 to 15 consecutive days. Independent Study allows students to stay current in their learning and receive attendance credit based on work completion. 

IS requirements: 

  • Students must be passing all of their classes to be eligible.

  • Students must have a minimum of 85% attendance to be eligible. 

  • There is no independent study available during the first 2 weeks of each term OR during the last week of each term.

  • Voluntary Attendance recovery will be available during bimonthly Saturday School and after school tutoring (see schedule of times offered).
